Explore the different ways to shape your learning experience and take the next step in your academic or professional journey.

Study that fits around you

We offer postgraduate options that fit around your life. Both paths provide the same high-quality education and lead to the same qualifications. Explore the benefits of each mode to find the one that aligns with your goals, schedule, and lifestyle.

Full-time Master’s degrees

The majority of our postgraduate courses (both taught and research) are studied on a full-time basis, with our taught Master’s degrees taking one year to complete.

Full-time study allows you to full immerse yourself in your education, taking advantage of our on-campus student experience and student services. It’s a popular choice if you’re looking to study a postgraduate qualification straight after your undergraduate degree or if you’ve gone into work but would now like to gain a qualification in a short time

Part-time Master’s degrees

Some of our postgraduate courses provide opportunities for you to study part time. This includes both master’s and doctoral courses. You'll study the same course as your full-time peers over an extended period.

You'll study at regular and irregular times throughout the year. This may include studying:

  • at evenings and weekends
  • in intensive teaching blocks
  • international students must enrol as full-time students. This is in line with UK visa requirements.

Your degree, your way

Our online and blended Master’s degrees are designed to fit around your ambitions, offering the same academic excellence with greater flexibility. These programmes give you the freedom to shape your postgraduate journey. With a range of start dates and formats, you can choose the path that works best for you.

Online Master’s degrees

Our online Master’s courses offer a flexible way of gaining a postgraduate qualification. They involve the same level of work as an on-campus programme but allow you to fit your studies around work or family life through distance learning. They are also a good option to consider if moving to the UK to study a full-time isn’t an option for you.

Most of these courses have September starts, but our Mediation and International Commercial Dispute Resolution LLM also offers a January start.

Blended learning degrees

We have many courses that blend online learning with face-to-face teaching. Some of them also include work placements.

The online element of these courses includes readings, discussion forums, and assignments. We deliver the courses via the Canvas Virtual Learning Environment (VLE). You'll receive face-to-face learning in intensive teaching blocks of one to two weeks.

Blended learning courses involve learning, teaching and assessment through a combination of on-campus, in-person, and online methods.

Master’s degree apprenticeships

A degree apprenticeship allows you to study towards a Master's degree while you work, getting invaluable industry experience and earning a salary. We offer a growing portfolio of Level 7 courses for you to choose from. Your employer may fully fund your studies using the apprenticeship levy.

Continuing professional development

We offer a range of continuing professional development (CPD) courses. They are great for busy professionals who want to further their knowledge at postgraduate level. They do not require the same time commitment of a full course.

Our CPD courses can be stand-alone or combined to make up a full programme of study. In some cases, they are accredited by the University and/or a relevant professional body.
